Being a senior comes with many privileges and one of these privileges include senior field day. Senior field day is a day for the senior class to relax and have a day to themselves before prom, exams and graduation.

“Senior field day is important because it is one last event where seniors get to hang out all together and have a fun, relaxed time before everything gets hectic and we all start to head in our different directions,” senior Anna Wolverton said.

This year, there were activities that students got to participate in such as bubble ball, a student vs. faculty football game and frisbee. There was also a bounce house obstacle course and many food vendors made an appearance as well. Most seniors seemed to enjoy bubble ball the most, even if they didn’t participate in it.

“Senior board introduced some new things, like bubble ball, which I think gave the day a new twist and made it exciting for everyone.” student body president Jesse Tompkins said. “My favorite part of the day was the student/faculty football game. It’s always fun to watch old people try to be cool.”

Although some feel that senior field day is not necessary, others feel differently as if it is needed for the senior class.

“It’s completely necessary because of all the stress of college, we need at least one day to just hang out and have a good time outside of the four walls of school,” senior Caroline Martin said.

The senior class suggests that some changes are made to senior field day for the future.

“Nothing could be improved necessarily, but it could potentially be more interactive, or have more student input in the creative process going into the day.” senior Jordan Young said. “Like, people could get to vote on what they want to see at senior field day as long as it’s not too ridiculous.”
